My Approach

I am a qualified experienced counsellor and EMDR therapist

The majority of my work is with adults and this may be short or long term depending on what you are bringing to therapy.  These are the areas of focus that I have experience with:

  • anxiety & depression

  • OCD and phobias

  • trauma

  • PTSD

  • self esteem and confidence

  • life changes & transitions

  • workplace stress

 

My therapy sessions are completely personalised to suit your individual situation and way of working.  Clients have told me they enjoy my practical approach that focuses on identifying tangible steps that are relevant and achievable.  

 

People come to therapy for many different reasons.  Sometimes, you may already be clear about what you want to achieve during our work together or you might have heard about a particular therapy and think this approach might be most useful.  Most often though, this is not the case.  This is where working with a trained and experienced professional is important.

I draw on a range of therapy models including EMDR, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA), Family Systems Therapy (FST) and Clinical Neuropsychotherapy.

You may feel nervous coming along for the first time but my clients tell me it was such a relief to finally share their story.  In your first session, I will begin to learn more about you and the reasons that you have come along.  Towards the end of the session, I will discuss with you the way in which I think it would be helpful to work together.

 

I will ensure that you feel safe, supported and comfortable to talk freely.  I do this by providing a relaxing environment, a respectful and ethical approach and the qualifications and experience to offer professional, high quality therapeutic services.
